Whenever someone says Nicki Minaj, the first thing that comes into your mind is not her philanthropy quests or education but various controversies, diss-tracks and divisive tracks such as “Only”, “Anaconda” and more.
Nonetheless, the rap megastar has donated $15,000 to the Food Bank of New York City. She teamed up with Mattel and created a Nicki Minaj Barbie doll, which she auctioned on CharityBuzz and send the proceeds to Project Angel Food. Nicki Minaj: An Education Advocate
A La Guardia High School of the Arts alumni, Nicki Minaj has always been an education advocate. Recently she was doing an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session about the lip syncing contest regarding her “Regret in Your Tears” music video. Conversely, one follower of hers asked if she would pay for her college tuition. In a beat, the Queens-born artist agreed and replied:
Show me straight A’s that I can verify w/ur school and I’ll pay it. Who wants to join THAT contest?!?!??♀ Dead serious. Shld I set it up? https://t.co/czH715u64a

The Grammy nominee offered to pay about $20,000 in student loans to her most deserving followers. That’s one way to encourage education. There was only one condition – Straight A’s or an impressive GPA. Just like that, the requests came flooding in with people sending Minaj the screenshots and pictures of their report cards and grades. However, Nicki Minaj just didn’t talk the talk; she actually did transfer the amounts.
Nicki Minaj Kept Her Word
We checked with a few beneficiaries and they confirmed that Nicki Minaj sent the money when they DM’d their bank details. A majority of the pleas made were for education books and tuition i.e. less than $1000, but she also agreed to pay about $6000 to one follower for his student loan if he could prove what it was for.
She ended the session with the promise to open the education vault again in 2 months or so. Get your report cards ready people!
P.S. TMZ has confirmed that two more people have received funds and one had a payment for $800.
